Indian Society of Labour Economics: The 58th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Labour Economics (ISLE) will be held during 24-26 November, 2016 in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, Assam, India. The Conference is being organised by IIT Guwahati in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Guwahati and OKD Institute of Social Change and Development, Guwahati. The 58th Annual Conference will be presided over by Professor Ajit Ghose, National Fellow, Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and Hon. Professor, Institute for Human Development (IHD), New Delhi (Formerly of ILO, Geneva). Dr. Rajshree Bedamatta, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Guwahati is the Organising Secretary of the Conference. The topics for discussion at this year’s Conference are: • Labour Market Institutions and Regulations • Wages in India: Structure, Trends and Determination • Education, Employment and Labour Markets About 500 delegates, including a number of distinguished scholars, policy-makers, trade unionists and other professionals from India and abroad will participate in the Conference. The deliberations and proceedings of the Conference are circulated widely in India and abroad.
